Cyclical Predictability

Meaning

Cyclical predictability refers to the reliable, recurring temporal pattern observed in numerous biological and physiological processes, most prominently the female menstrual cycle and the circadian rhythm of various hormones. This predictable rhythmicity is a robust indicator of a harmonious and well-regulated function within the underlying neuroendocrine axes. A loss of this expected rhythm, such as irregular menstruation or a loss of cortisol diurnal variation, often signals a significant systemic hormonal imbalance or disruption in the homeostatic feedback loops.
