Cutaneous Inflammation

Meaning

Cutaneous Inflammation refers to the complex physiological response of the skin, the body’s largest organ, to harmful stimuli such as pathogens, irritants, injury, or internal metabolic and hormonal dysregulation. Clinically, it manifests as erythema, edema, heat, and discomfort, representing the body’s attempt to initiate healing and defend against perceived threats. Chronic cutaneous inflammation is a core pathological feature in numerous dermatological conditions and is often linked to systemic hormonal imbalances.
