CRH Inhibition

Meaning

CRH (Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone) inhibition refers to the suppression of CRH release or its action within the body. This process leads to a subsequent reduction in the secretion of Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) from the anterior pituitary gland, which in turn diminishes cortisol production by the adrenal glands, effectively dampening the activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.
