Core Clock Genes are a set of master regulatory genes, such as CLOCK, BMAL1, Per, and Cry, that govern the intrinsic, self-sustaining molecular machinery responsible for generating the circadian rhythm in nearly all human cells. These genes encode proteins that oscillate in a roughly 24-hour cycle, driving the rhythmic expression of thousands of downstream genes, thereby coordinating physiological processes.
