Conventional Reference Ranges

Meaning

Conventional Reference Ranges represent the statistical intervals for laboratory test results, typically encompassing the central 95% of values found in a supposedly “healthy” population, regardless of age, optimal function, or specific clinical context. These ranges are used by clinical laboratories to determine whether a patient’s result is technically “normal” or “abnormal.” They often reflect population averages, which may not align with the narrower, more desirable ranges associated with optimal hormonal health and peak vitality.
