Controlled Inflammation

Meaning

Controlled Inflammation refers to the necessary and tightly regulated, acute inflammatory response that is absolutely essential for tissue repair, effective pathogen defense, and physiological adaptation following a challenge. This is a critical distinction from chronic, unresolved inflammation, as a healthy body must initiate a robust inflammatory cascade and then promptly and completely resolve it. In the hormonal context, this controlled process is often intentionally leveraged, such as following high-intensity exercise, to stimulate beneficial hormonal signaling like growth hormone release and efficient tissue remodeling.
