Conn’s Syndrome

Meaning

Conn’s Syndrome, also known as primary hyperaldosteronism, is a medical condition characterized by the adrenal glands producing excessive amounts of the hormone aldosterone, independent of the body’s renin-angiotensin system. This hormonal imbalance typically results in the kidneys retaining too much sodium and excreting too much potassium, frequently leading to high blood pressure and low potassium levels.
