Coercive Pressure

Meaning

The application of force, threats, or undue influence to compel an individual to make a decision or take an action against their genuine free will. In the context of healthcare and wellness programs, this relates to situations where an employer or provider uses significant penalties or disproportionately large incentives to pressure participation in health screenings or treatments. True informed consent, especially for sensitive hormonal assessments, is invalidated under coercive pressure.
