Coagulation Factors

Meaning

A complex group of proteins found in blood plasma that are essential for initiating and regulating the process of hemostasis, or blood clotting. These factors, primarily synthesized in the liver, interact in a precise, sequential cascade to form a stable fibrin clot at the site of vascular injury. Clinically, their concentration and activity are critical markers for assessing bleeding and thrombotic risk.
