Circadian Rhythm Reinforcement

Meaning

The intentional application of specific environmental and behavioral stimuli, such as timed light exposure, precise meal sequencing, and controlled temperature modulation, designed to strengthen the endogenous master clock located in the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the hypothalamus. This reinforcement is critical for optimizing the timing and amplitude of hormonal secretions, including the nocturnal rise of melatonin and the diurnal pulse of cortisol. It is a proactive strategy to maintain synchrony between internal biology and the external twenty-four-hour cycle.
