Circadian Pattern

Meaning

The Circadian Pattern refers to the approximately 24-hour biological rhythm that governs nearly all physiological and behavioral processes in humans, including sleep-wake cycles, body temperature regulation, and hormone secretion. This endogenous timing system is synchronized to the external light-dark cycle and is vital for optimizing metabolic function and maintaining systemic homeostasis. Deviations from a stable circadian pattern, often termed chronodisruption, can significantly impair hormonal balance and overall health.
