Chylomicron

Meaning

A chylomicron is a large lipoprotein particle synthesized in intestinal cells, primarily transporting dietary fats from the intestines into the bloodstream. Formed after lipid absorption, it consists mainly of triglycerides, along with cholesterol, phospholipids, and specific apolipoproteins, enabling its solubility and transport in aqueous biological fluids.
