Chronological Markers

Meaning

Chronological Markers are physiological or biochemical indicators whose levels or characteristics change predictably with the passage of time, serving as quantifiable proxies for an individual’s actual calendar age. These markers are distinct from biological age markers, as they simply reflect the duration of life lived, rather than the functional state of the body’s systems. Examples include the accumulation of certain inert metabolic byproducts or the simple, unadjusted decline in some hormone levels over decades. They provide a baseline reference point against which biological health can be compared.
