Chronic Pressure

Meaning

Chronic Pressure, in the context of hormonal health, describes the persistent, unremitting physiological and psychological stressor load that necessitates prolonged activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. This sustained allostatic load leads to chronic hypercortisolemia or, eventually, adrenal fatigue and hypocortisolemia, disrupting the delicate balance of the entire endocrine system. Clinically, this state is associated with immune dysregulation, metabolic dysfunction, and accelerated aging.
