Chronic Inflammation Markers

Meaning

A panel of measurable biochemical indicators present in blood or tissue that reflect a state of persistent, low-grade systemic inflammatory activity, distinct from acute, localized inflammation. Clinically relevant markers include high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and fibrinogen, which serve as objective proxies for underlying metabolic and immune stress. Elevated levels are strongly correlated with increased risk for numerous age-related and hormonal dysfunctions.
