Chronic Inflammation Indicators

Meaning

Chronic Inflammation Indicators are specific, measurable biochemical markers or observable clinical signs that objectively reflect a prolonged, low-grade, and often subclinical inflammatory state within the body. Unlike acute inflammation, which is a necessary and transient immune response, chronic inflammation is a persistent, dysregulated process strongly linked to the pathogenesis of various non-communicable diseases and accelerated biological aging. Clinically relevant examples include persistently elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and specific pro-inflammatory cytokine profiles.
