Chronic Inflammation Biomarkers

Meaning

Chronic Inflammation Biomarkers are quantifiable molecular indicators, typically measured in serum or saliva, that reflect a persistent, low-grade activation of the innate immune system within the body. These markers, which include high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), and fibrinogen, signal underlying systemic stress and tissue distress. Clinically, elevated levels are strongly associated with an increased risk for numerous age-related pathologies, including cardiovascular disease and cognitive decline.
