Chronic Hyperinsulinemia

Meaning

Chronic Hyperinsulinemia refers to a persistent elevation of insulin levels in the bloodstream, often occurring as a compensatory response to insulin resistance, where the body’s cells do not adequately respond to insulin’s signals. This metabolic state signifies that the pancreas is working overtime to produce more insulin in an effort to maintain normal blood glucose levels, a critical function for cellular energy. It is a key indicator of underlying metabolic dysregulation, preceding the onset of type 2 diabetes and other metabolic conditions.
