Chronic Heart Failure

Meaning

Chronic Heart Failure is a complex clinical syndrome resulting from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the ventricle to fill with or eject blood effectively. This long-term condition leads to inadequate tissue perfusion and often manifests as fluid retention, shortness of breath, and debilitating fatigue. It represents a progressive deterioration of myocardial function, engaging a detrimental cycle of sustained neurohormonal activation. The diagnosis is based on clinical signs and objective evidence of cardiac dysfunction.
