Choroid Plexus

Meaning

The Choroid Plexus is a highly specialized, intricate network of fenestrated capillaries enveloped by a layer of modified ependymal epithelial cells, located strategically within the ventricles of the brain. This anatomical structure is essential for maintaining the delicate internal environment of the central nervous system. Its principal function is the active and regulated production of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which provides mechanical protection and nutrient supply to the brain and spinal cord.
