Cellulite Pathophysiology

Meaning

Cellulite pathophysiology refers to the complex underlying biological and structural processes that collectively lead to the characteristic dimpled, uneven surface appearance of the skin known as cellulite. This process involves a combination of alterations in the structure of the subcutaneous fat layer, the surrounding fibrous connective tissue septae, and the localized microcirculation. It is understood as a multi-factorial phenomenon strongly influenced by genetic factors, sex hormones, and localized tissue inflammation.
