Cellular Toxicity

Meaning

Cellular Toxicity, or cytotoxicity, is the condition where a substance, compound, or physiological state induces structural damage or functional impairment in living cells, potentially leading to cell death. Within the domain of hormonal health, this term applies to the damaging effects of excessive hormone levels, harmful metabolic byproducts, or exogenous compounds on the delicate integrity of endocrine glands and their target tissues. Such damage can accelerate cellular senescence and compromise organ reserve over time.
