Cellular Stagnation

Meaning

Cellular stagnation describes a state of reduced metabolic activity and diminished regenerative capacity within cells, often associated with the aging process and chronic low-grade inflammation. This phenomenon is characterized by impaired mitochondrial function, inefficient waste clearance via autophagy, and a sluggish response to growth and repair signals. Clinically, cellular stagnation manifests as reduced vitality, slower healing, and an accelerated decline in organ reserve. Addressing this is a primary goal in longevity medicine.
