Cellular Senescence Prevention

Meaning

Cellular Senescence Prevention refers to therapeutic or lifestyle strategies aimed at delaying, mitigating, or reversing the state in which a cell permanently ceases division while remaining metabolically active and secreting pro-inflammatory molecules. Senescent cells, often called “zombie cells,” accumulate with age and contribute significantly to tissue dysfunction, chronic inflammation, and the development of age-related diseases. Preventing this accumulation is a primary goal in longevity medicine.
