Cellular Responsiveness Metrics

Meaning

Cellular Responsiveness Metrics are quantitative parameters used to evaluate the efficiency and magnitude of a target cell’s physiological reaction to a specific signaling molecule, such as an endogenous hormone or an administered therapeutic agent. These metrics assess the functional integrity of the entire signal transduction pathway, from receptor binding to the final intracellular effect. Diminished responsiveness, often termed cellular resistance, is a critical indicator of age-related decline and various endocrinopathies, including insulin resistance.
