Cellular Inflammation

Meaning

A foundational biological process characterized by the activation of inflammatory signaling pathways within individual cells, often in response to chronic metabolic stress, oxidative damage, or persistent low-grade immune stimulation. Unlike acute, localized inflammation, this form is systemic and subclinical, lacking the overt signs of redness, heat, and swelling. It is a pervasive driver of chronic disease, including metabolic dysfunction and endocrine resistance.
