Cell-Penetrating Peptides (CPPs)

Meaning

Cell-Penetrating Peptides, or CPPs, are short sequences of amino acids capable of facilitating the translocation of various molecular cargo, including therapeutic agents, across the cell membrane into the intracellular space. These peptides act as molecular delivery vehicles, significantly enhancing the bioavailability of compounds that would otherwise be excluded by the lipid bilayer. Their application in hormonal therapy allows for the direct delivery of signaling molecules or transcription factors to their intracellular targets.
