Catagen Phase

Meaning

The Catagen Phase represents the brief, transitional period in the hair growth cycle, occurring between the active growth phase (Anagen) and the resting phase (Telogen). This critical stage is characterized by the cessation of cellular proliferation in the hair follicle matrix. It signals the end of active hair production and the beginning of follicular regression. This phase is essential for the orderly shedding and subsequent renewal of the hair shaft.
