Cardiometabolic Risk

Meaning

Cardiometabolic risk represents the probability of an individual developing serious cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, or stroke due to a cluster of interrelated physiological and biochemical factors. These risk factors often include central adiposity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and impaired glucose tolerance, collectively indicating systemic metabolic dysregulation. Assessing this risk provides a predictive measure for long-term health outcomes and guides preventative clinical intervention.
