C15

Meaning

C15, or pentadecanoic acid, is an odd-chain saturated fatty acid that is increasingly recognized as an essential nutrient for maintaining optimal cellular health and metabolic function. Unlike even-chain saturated fats, which have been historically viewed negatively, C15:0 is posited to be a beneficial component of the circulating lipid profile. Adequate levels are correlated with a reduced risk of various age-related metabolic and cardiovascular conditions.
