Breast Cell Proliferation

Meaning

Breast cell proliferation refers to the process where breast cells increase in number through cell division, a fundamental biological activity. This cellular expansion is a normal physiological occurrence essential for breast development, during puberty, and throughout the menstrual cycle, as well as during pregnancy and lactation. However, an uncontrolled or excessive rate of this cellular increase can signify an underlying pathological condition, often indicating a heightened risk for or presence of breast disease.
