Biological System Integrity

Meaning

This term refers to the state of optimal functional and structural soundness across all levels of an organism, from the molecular components of DNA and proteins up to the integrated function of organ systems. It represents the inherent capacity of the body to resist degradation, maintain homeostasis, and efficiently repair damage in the face of internal and external stressors. Clinically, a high degree of biological system integrity correlates directly with resilience, healthspan, and resistance to age-related decline and chronic disease.
