Biological Synchronicity

Meaning

Biological synchronicity describes the optimal state where an organism’s internal physiological rhythms, particularly the circadian clock, are harmoniously aligned with external environmental cues, known as zeitgebers. This precise coordination ensures that metabolic processes, hormonal secretion, and cellular repair cycles occur at their most efficient times of the day. Disruptions to this synchronicity, often termed chronodisruption, can lead to significant metabolic and endocrine dysfunction.
