Biological Determinism

Meaning

Biological Determinism is the premise that an organism’s traits, behaviors, and health outcomes are solely or primarily dictated by its fixed genetic makeup or inherent biological structure. In endocrinology, this view suggests that established hormonal profiles or inherent physiological set points rigidly determine an individual’s health trajectory. Contemporary clinical practice now recognizes this as an oversimplification, emphasizing the dynamic interplay between genetics and the environment.
