Biological Agents

Meaning

Biological agents are microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or toxins derived from living organisms, that can cause disease or harm in humans, animals, or plants. These entities are distinct from chemical or physical hazards, possessing the capacity to replicate or persist within a host and elicit a biological response. Their classification often depends on their pathogenicity, transmissibility, and the severity of illness they induce.
