Bioidentical Estrogen

Meaning

Bioidentical estrogen refers to pharmaceutical-grade hormone compounds that are structurally and chemically identical to the estrogen hormones naturally produced by the human body, specifically estradiol (E2), estrone (E1), and estriol (E3). This contrasts with synthetic or equine-derived estrogens, which possess molecular structures not natively found in human physiology. These preparations are clinically utilized in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) to mitigate symptoms associated with hormone deficiency, particularly during the menopausal transition.
