Bio-Regulatory Asymmetry

Meaning

Bio-Regulatory Asymmetry describes a state where the finely tuned balance between opposing biological regulatory systems is disrupted, leading to a functional imbalance across the body’s internal milieu. This condition is often observed in the autonomic nervous system, where sympathetic and parasympathetic branches exhibit inappropriate dominance or suppression, or within the endocrine system, such as a skewed cortisol-to-DHEA ratio. Such asymmetry compromises the body’s capacity for adaptive response, contributing to chronic stress, poor recovery, and suboptimal hormonal health. Clinical assessment seeks to quantify this deviation from an optimal, symmetrical regulatory state.
