B-Cell Hyperactivity

Meaning

B-Cell Hyperactivity signifies an inappropriate and excessive activation, proliferation, and differentiation of B lymphocytes, which are the immune cells responsible for producing antibodies. This pathological state results in the overproduction of antibodies, including self-reactive autoantibodies that are the clinical hallmark of many autoimmune diseases. Sustained B-cell hyperactivity contributes significantly to chronic inflammation and mediates direct tissue damage through the deposition of immune complexes.
