Autonomic Conditioning

Meaning

Autonomic conditioning is a clinical or behavioral process aimed at deliberately improving the functional flexibility and responsiveness of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). This process focuses on increasing the dynamic range and appropriate reactivity of the parasympathetic and sympathetic branches. Successful conditioning leads to a higher degree of physiological resilience, allowing the individual to rapidly transition between states of stress and rest. It is a critical component in managing stress-related hormonal disorders.
