Autoimmune Endocrine Conditions

Meaning

Autoimmune endocrine conditions are disorders where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own endocrine glands, impairing hormone production or function. This misdirected response can cause hormone deficiency, such as in Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or Type 1 diabetes, or hormone excess, as seen in Graves’ disease, due to glandular overstimulation.
