Auto-Regulatory Feedback Loops

Meaning

Auto-Regulatory Feedback Loops describe the intrinsic homeostatic mechanisms within endocrine axes where the output of a system acts to control its own input or activity level. These loops are fundamental for maintaining hormonal concentrations within narrow physiological ranges. Dysregulation of these negative or positive feedback systems leads directly to endocrine pathology. They are the body’s built-in stability controls.
