Athlete Chrono-Adaptation is the strategic, intentional process of deliberately adjusting an athlete’s internal biological clock, or circadian rhythm, to perfectly align with external performance demands, such as a specific competition time or international travel across multiple time zones. This essential process involves carefully modifying powerful environmental cues, known as zeitgebers, to optimize the timing of the athlete’s peak physical and cognitive function. Successful chrono-adaptation minimizes the performance decrement universally associated with circadian misalignment and maximizes the athlete’s inherent physiological potential at the critical, predetermined time.
