Anti-Senescence

Meaning

Anti-Senescence refers to therapeutic or lifestyle strategies aimed at preventing, delaying, or reversing cellular senescence, a state where cells permanently cease dividing but remain metabolically active and secrete pro-inflammatory factors. This biological goal is critical for extending healthspan by reducing the burden of dysfunctional, aging cells within tissues. Senescent cells, often called “zombie cells,” contribute significantly to age-related decline and chronic disease development. Successfully implementing anti-senescence strategies can improve tissue function and vitality.
