Andropause Physiological Changes

Meaning

This term describes the constellation of gradual, age-related physiological and biochemical shifts observed in men, primarily driven by a decline in circulating androgen levels, notably testosterone. It is a natural process distinct from the abrupt cessation seen in female menopause, often characterized by subtle but progressive changes in body composition, mood, and sexual function. Clinically, this state is often referred to as late-onset hypogonadism when symptomatic and confirmed by laboratory findings.
