Androgenic Manifestations

Meaning

Androgenic Manifestations are the clinical signs and symptoms that result from the action of androgens, the male sex hormones, on sensitive peripheral tissues. These physical expressions reflect either an absolute excess of circulating androgens or an enhanced local sensitivity at the cellular receptor level. Common presentations include hirsutism, which is excessive hair growth in a male pattern, acne vulgaris, and a pattern of hair thinning known as androgenic alopecia. Recognizing these specific dermatological and physiological changes is crucial for accurately diagnosing underlying hormonal dysregulation in clinical endocrinology.
