Androgen Saturation

Meaning

Androgen saturation describes the state where the androgen receptors within target cells are fully occupied by circulating androgens, such as testosterone or dihydrotestosterone. This signifies a biological limit where increasing systemic androgen concentrations will no longer elicit a greater cellular response through these receptors. It represents the maximal capacity of the cellular machinery to respond to androgenic stimulation, regardless of further hormone availability.
