Androgen Receptor Saturation

Meaning

Androgen Receptor Saturation describes the physiological state where the concentration of circulating androgens, predominantly testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, is sufficient to occupy nearly all available androgen receptors within target cells. This condition signifies the functional point at which further substantial increases in androgen concentration will not elicit a proportionally greater biological response. Clinically, achieving optimal saturation is a key objective in hormone replacement therapy to maximize therapeutic benefit without incurring adverse effects from excessive hormone levels.
