Anastrozole Co-Administration

Meaning

Anastrozole co-administration is the simultaneous clinical use of the aromatase inhibitor anastrozole alongside another therapeutic agent, most commonly testosterone replacement therapy in men or certain fertility treatments. This strategy is employed to mitigate potential adverse effects of elevated estrogen levels resulting from the peripheral aromatization of exogenous testosterone. Careful monitoring of estradiol levels is essential to prevent excessively suppressed estrogen, which can lead to negative health consequences such as bone density loss.
