Anagen Phase

Meaning

The Anagen Phase represents the active growth period within the hair follicle cycle, characterized by rapid cell division in the hair matrix, which leads to the formation of the hair shaft. This is the longest stage of the hair cycle, determining the maximum length a hair can achieve. Maintaining a prolonged Anagen Phase is essential for healthy, dense hair growth and is highly sensitive to systemic factors, including nutritional status and hormonal signaling. Disruptions to this phase can manifest as various forms of alopecia.
