Anabolic Steroid Induced Hypogonadism

Meaning

Anabolic Steroid Induced Hypogonadism (ASIH) describes diminished testicular function and reduced endogenous testosterone production, directly caused by external anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) administration. This condition is secondary hypogonadism, where endocrine disruption originates from the pituitary or hypothalamus, not primarily the testes.
